When we told you about Hannah Keep’s plans to swim 10km in the Great North Swim last week, a part of us couldn’t help but think “Is that even humanly possible?”
Well, the answer is a resounding yes! Hannah not only managed to complete the swim, but she completely smashed it. She managed to complete it in 3 hours 45 minutes, which is a lot of time to be in freezing cold water in the middle of the Lake District!
Hannah managed to raise a whopping £750 for her Herculean feat, which including Gift Aid amounts to an ever more impressive £928.75 to go towards helping people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. And she still hopes to raise even more, as many of her friends still haven’t got round to sponsoring her yet. You can help her raise more too, if you just visit her JustGiving page.
But Hannah doesn’t plan to stop there. OCD Action is a charity very close to her heart, so she wants to continue pushing herself to help raise awareness. And if you thought 10km was a lot, wait till you see what she has planned next! Hannah says:
[I] would really like to continue swimming for OCD Action, I'm hoping to go some more long distances this year with the aim of swimming the channel at some point..... If I can persuade my mum it's safe enough…
We wish Hannah the best of luck with her future endeavours, and thank her so much again for her amazing achievement!
